Why Posterous is Great!

Ever since I discovered Posterous I have become severely addicted but I couldn't really put my finger on why....until now. I randomly found myself browsing through youtube videos on my iPod Touch and came across the trailer for Crank 2 and thought that it was pretty cool and I wanted to put a link on Twitter to it but then I had a thought which defined my love for Posterous by just using my iPod Touch. The steps I followed were:

- Finding the YouTube link for the Crank 2 video
- I then put it into a email using my Gmail account added some text and sent it to post@posterous.com
- I then opened up Twitterfon where my Posterous link was waiting for me which allowed me to view my Posterous page
- I viewed my message on my Posterous page which converted my link into an embedded YouTube video where I could play it again

I imagine this all seems very trivial and possibly quite sad to some but it blew my mind linking all of those programs on my MOBILE device. It really is a joint love for my iPod Touch to be honest but the basic concept of using an email account to post to a blog is truly an inspired idea. Anyway that is my attempt to explain why I think Posterous is great :)

Thanks for writing up this post! We built Posterous is so ubiquitous and lends itself so well to scenarios like these. Why build new tools people have to learn? Email is already everywhere, including all mobile devices. Perfect!

We always say, "Send us anything and we'll make it look good." So things like auto embedding just make sense to us.
